Web design for Tunbridge Wells, twenty minutes up the A26

Tunbridge Wells customers judge presentation, and they are right to. A cheap-looking site does real damage to a professional firm in a town where the competition looks expensive. Bespoke builds from £1,950, without a London day rate attached.

The competition here looks good, so yours has to

The Pantiles and the town centre are full of businesses that spend properly on how they look, and the professional quarter is full of firms whose clients decide on presentation before they read a word. In that context a template site does not read as thrifty. It reads as a firm that does not take itself seriously.

The flip side is that plenty of local agencies price like London because their clients can pay it. I am one developer twenty minutes down the A26 with no office to fund, so you get the same standard of build at a Sussex number.

Who I tend to work with in TW

Professional services

Solicitors, accountants, financial advisers. Sites where credibility does the selling and the copy has to be careful.

Clinics and practices

Private healthcare, dental, physio. Appointments, clear pricing, and reassurance before information.

Independent retail and hospitality

Shops, restaurants and studios where photography carries the page and the site has to work on a phone in the street.

What ranking in Tunbridge Wells actually takes

It is a genuinely competitive local market, contested by local firms and by national chains with branch pages. Google still decides the local pack on relevance, distance and prominence, and the profile that wins is the one kept current: recent photos, live services, reviews arriving steadily, and a website that says the same thing the profile does.

Note the distance part, because it is the one nobody can fix. If you are physically in Southborough and competing for Tunbridge Wells town centre searches, proximity works against you and the answer is prominence rather than a page with the town name repeated eleven times.

Work near Royal Tunbridge Wells

The nearest of these are Mayfield Porcelain in Mayfield and The Pilates Boutique, The Flower Workshop and Melina Joy Opticians in Heathfield. They are live, and the work page lists every address so you can go and look rather than take my word for it. I have not invented a case study for any of them.

What to read next

What a build actually involves, week by week, is on the website design and build page. Every price I charge is published on pricing, including the ones for Royal Tunbridge Wells. If what you have is slow rather than old, Core Web Vitals is the place to start, and the work is all live if you would rather judge it yourself than read about it.

Questions people actually ask

Do you need to be based in Tunbridge Wells?

No, and be wary of anyone claiming a local office they visit twice a year. I am close enough to sit in your office when it helps, which is at the start and at the end.

Can you match a London agency's work?

On a brochure site or a WordPress build, yes, and I will show you live examples rather than a case study deck. On a large multi-team project with brand strategy attached, a London agency has resources I do not.

What does a professional firm's site cost?

Usually the £3,900 bespoke tier, because these sites need real service pages, team profiles and careful copy structure. Five-page sites at £1,950 suit smaller practices.

Do you work with Sevenoaks and Tonbridge too?

Yes, and Wadhurst, Uckfield, Heathfield and Lewes. I have not built a page for each, because thin town pages do more harm than good.

Twenty minutes away, and no London day rate.

This page, measured in your browser

Your device
LCPMeasuring…
How long until the main content appears. Google wants under 2.5 seconds.
INPMeasuring…
How quickly the page answers when you tap. Under 200ms is the target.
CLSMeasuring…
How much the layout moves while loading. Under 0.1, ideally zero.

Real numbers from your device and connection, not a screenshot of a score I chose. Nothing is sent anywhere. The measurement happens in your browser and stays there. If one of these ever reads amber on my own site, you will see it, which is rather the point. I audit these for £650.
